This new home development in Orcutt, California is Santa Barbara County’s only Master Planned Community, with executive homes, oak tree-lined streets, a gated community, and private access to active lifestyle amenities. Nestled against 580 acres of open space, it provides the sanctuary when you need it, and the lifestyle when you want it.
Tons of hiking and biking trails surround this lush community, and the Orcutt Community Park & Sports Complex is adjacent to our homes. You can also golf at Rancho Maria Golf Course right here in Orcutt, and at the Santa Maria Country Club just 4 miles away. Or, trade in your clubs and try your hand at disc golf at Waller Park nearby.
Hiking/Walking
Whether you want to walk in nature, run on a dirt path, or hike an incline, there are tons of options within 30 minutes of your door at Rice Ranch. You can find easy hikes for a quick break, flat hikes, and trails with lush scenery. There are trails with rivers and views of the ocean, as well as routes through forests, over lakes, and even some for off-roading. Most trails also allow dogs on leash.

Santa Barbara wine country is famous for cycling and draws thousands of cyclists to the area throughout the year. You may have seen various races, tours, stages, and time trails here, on our scenic and popular routes. You can enjoy long, challenging rides and fun, casual rides with the family, with a large group, or just a few on an electric bike through small towns and verdant vineyards.

When you need to refuel and refresh, check out these popular breweries and tap rooms in the area. Most are family-friendly and some also have great grub.
Naughty Oak Brewing in Orcutt aims to provide you with high-quality beer that can be enjoyed in an environment that promotes community. They have a selection of 12 beers on tap, all crafted on-site, with more varieties coming. They do not serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own meal or order take-out to enjoy with your pint!
Blast 825 Brewery in Orcutt is the Central Coast’s premier live music venue and family-friendly restaurant. They are local-minded, craft-oriented, and quality-driven. They are currently working on restaurant renovations and will re-open their famous beer wall and pizza over in the third week of April. In the meantime, they are open and serving pizza and beer from a local spot on their patio and inside. Locals can’t wait for them to re-open!
For another kind of brew in Orcutt, try Piper’s Kombucha Brew. This handcrafted labor of love is brewed in small batches by Shane Piper with loving energy, sound-healing and kirtan music for a vibrant energy flow. They use fresh organic ingredients and local fruits when available. Kombucha pairs well with savory and sweet dishes.
A little bit north, on the border of Santa Maria and Nipomo, you’ll find Santa Maria Brewing Company. With 2 taprooms currently open, Santa Maria Brewing Company is serving up locally brewed premiere craft beers to their many patrons. No matter what your favorite brew is, Santa Maria Brewing Company promises to have something that will make you happy!
A little further afield, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. was founded in Buellton, California, and quickly grew to 5 tap rooms up and down the Central Coast, including Arroyo Grande and Los Olivos (both 25 minutes away). They feature bar and table seating with most of Fig’s core beers on tap. Guests can choose from a rotating list of specialty beers, beer cocktails, and floats found only in the Figueroa taproom. Housemade pizza dough is made with their own Fig Mountain Light lager baked right into the dough.
The Summit Club
When you live at The Meadows or The Groves at Rice Ranch, you can stay even closer to home while you’re active at The Summit Club! Besides a refreshing swim at the pool (and soak in the hot tub), there’s plenty of space to bring your own games and sports equipment with the family. There’s also the Italian-turned-wine-country game of Bocce Ball, which is a social game, played with balls in an outdoor lane or court. There’s plenty of time for wine and laughter! And, much sure to brush up on your pickle ball and yoga skills.
